This was originally translated by Dark Twilkitri and was updated to FE13’s (Awakening) names by Gharnef from Serenesforest. Since Awakening gave out official NoA translations for old stuff, names were updated.
Edit: A new retranslation called Project Naga was started in 2016 by DDSTranslation, lead by SerenesForest user bookofholsety
Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu is the 4th Fire Emblem game and it starts the Jugdral saga in the series which includes the 5th game, Thracia 776.
It introduced several recurring gameplay elements such as Skills, Support, Weapon Triangle, and Generational Format.
It is considered the pinnacle of Fire Emblem by older fans.
A long abandoned element is instead of conquering only one castle per chapter (one castle returns starting FE6), you conquer two or more castles per chapter and unlimited deployable units. This is ,of course, balanced by the number of recruitable units. It results in very large maps.
The generation format in this game is also unique in that the very first generation directly influences the second generation with items and “Holy Blood” but the second generation cannot be played until the chapters of the first are over (No time traveling BS)
Units that did not get paired will get “Substitute Children” that are not related to anyone so you’ll still have the same number of units.
