|Game Name||Wangan Midnight Portable|
|Original Title||湾岸ミッドナイト ポータブル|
Wangan Midnight Portable (湾岸ミッドナイト ポータブル) is a Racing video game published by Genki released on September 27th, 2007 for the PlayStation Portable.
Wangan Midnight Portable is the sequel of the PS2 version of the game, it’s of course a racing game based on Wangan Midnight anime/manga series by Michiharu Kusunoki.
The game was developed and published by Genki a rather obscure Japanese responsible of “Tokyo Xtreme Racer” and not much more. Oh! by the way, they also have a terrible logo. Anyway…this is the second game on the series, the PS2 version being the first one.
The game has several modes: Arcade mode where you run races for fun, tuning mode where you can tune-up your cars, and story mode which if you know some Japanese will get to enjoy much more.
Something cool the for the PS3 version of this game has is the possibility to race online against up to 4 friends, sadly this isn’t possible on this PSP version.
As always this series features many cars of Japanese manufacturers all respectively licensed, like Nissan, Mazda, Subaru, Toyota and Mitsubishi to name a few.
The game has no relation with “Wangan Maximun Tune” games published by Namco Bandai. The way the cars drive as well as the presentation is completely different however this game has some neat voice acting! Since the same seiyu who work on the anime recorded the voice over for this game as well.
