|Game Name||Hexyz Force|
Hexyz Force is a RPG video game published by Atlus released on June 2nd, 2010 for the PlayStation Portable.
Review by Wolfzen:
Hexyz Force is a game about the fight between Darkness and Light. As noted, it has Japanese voices and English text.
One downside of this is that the animated cut scenes have NO subtitles, so you may want to reconsider whether to play this or the full English version, not the undub.
I recommend this game for those who enjoy fighting, but also with an objective, rather than just grinding. During the later levels you have to spend extra time training, so to prevent this you should train harder and level up a lot as much as you can. Those who only enjoy ruthless killing can try this, but may not enjoy it as much.
There are two story lines, one male and the other female. The female story line is about Cecilia and how she gained a staff from the Goddess of Creation, and thus her adventure begins. She finds out she is a Hexyz, one of the Goddess’s “soldiers” as I prefer to call them. They have a special weapon called a Ragnafacts, which cannot be destroyed, unlike the other type of weapon, Forcifacts. The other story line follows Levant, a soldier who has been seen as a traitor, and was going to be executed before being saved by the Argent, a group of human-hating rebels. Both of these story lines intersect at some points, even joining forces in SPOILER the final battle. /SPOILER.
Overall, it’s a pretty good game. Smooth graphics, and training isn’t too hard most of the time. I would rate it 8/10 overall. The story line is pretty interesting, but it doesn’t grab you like some other story lines do. It hints at romance sometimes, but there is practically none, so if you wanted some, tough luck. For those who want a good ol’ adventure with some spice, this is for you!
