Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom is a Visual Novel video game published by Aksys Games released on February 14th, 2012 for the PlayStation Portable.

This game is an otome; basically one girl surrounded by guys to pick from. The main character is a girl by the name of Chizuru Yukimura, who is looking for her father. He had gone missing for about a month, and she decided she would search for him. One night, when searching, she is attacked by a group of demon-like creatures covered in blood attack her. She is saved by members of the Shinsengumi, a group of men rebelling against the government. They say that she ‘knows too much’, and takes her in, forcing her to become the only female member of the Shinsengumi.
This game is a visual novel type, and is quite interesting; however it is not for those who want more action. I recommend this for people who enjoy choosing relationships, and who like samurai and the Shinsengumi. This is mostly a dating game, after all, so I especially recommend it to girls.
The mystery of the Shinsengumi and the demons are something that you can only truly experience by reading the visual novel completely!

A girl disguising herself as a boy goes to the ronin (masterless samurai) infested Kyoto and horrors of white haired men wearing blue coats approaches her. Fortunately she was saved by a group of men wearing the same coats and that’s when the story begins.
Story:
Hakuoki is about the Shinsengumi. The story is very long and tells you history of Japan in the 1800s, with the addition of supernatural things. You should know that this game involves a lot of reading and reading. There’s a lot of text in it. The story is awesome that’s why it has its prequel and sequel.
Characters:
The characters are developed in the course of time. Each giving information to the protagonist and each of their beliefs unraveled. The characters aren’t just two dimensional sprites here. They each have their own troubles that they want to solve.
Art:
The greatest thing about this game is the art, and as you can see, it has wonderful CGs and background. This kind of pictures makes you want to collect all CGs and just look at them.
Music:
The opening song is cool and the BGMs gives the atmosphere the right justice. The ending song will put you to tears.
