The Transformers (トランスフォーマー) is a Action/Beat 'em up video game published by Takara, Winkysoft released on October 30th, 2003 for the Sony PlayStation 2.
The Transformers (Also called Transformers Japan, Transformer Takara, and Transformers: Call to the Future) is a Beat’em Up style action games based off of the Original Transformers and to be Frank……It is an absolute Piece of Garbage.
The Game allows you to choose either Autobot or Decpticon, telling a different side to the same story, and build a team of 3 for battles featuring Transformers from Generation 1 to even Headmasters. The Game features a ton of references to the Cartoon series that Transformers fans will love, but that ends the good things about this game.
Outside of that all of the Game’s Voice Acting is in English, which sounds good as you’ll be able to understand it (Added by the fact you can change the everything to English in the options) but the VO is absolutely terrible (See Video for an idea of just how bad it is) with actors having no idea how to sound, sounding way to similar to other characters, or in the narrator’s case sounding like they took a ton of sleeping pills before recording the lines.
The Combat is incredibly sluggish and never properly explains how to play the game (And while the game has an option for English the Manual does not), Your AI Partners are as dumb as a bag of bricks while Enemy AI know the only way to win is to gang up on you leading to some very Unfair fights and unnecessary difficulty.
Overall The Transformers is game you only play if you are looking to torture yourself or a Giant Die Hard Fan of the Series.
