Story

Takes place in the Junkyard, a combat simulator program divided between six tribes where it always rains: the Embryon, Vanguards, Solids, Maribel, Brutes and Wolves. Each tribe holds a particular territory, and initially are devoid of emotions. The main protagonists are a silent protagonist like other SMT Series, his name is Serph the Leader of Embryon. After being infected with a demon virus that grants them demonic powers, the Embryon must fight with and devour the other tribes. The following game is set on Earth, which has been devastated by a phenomenon known as the “Black Sun”, a manifestation of God’s anger. The survivors of humanity are ruled by the Karma Society.

Gameplay

Players take control of the characters Serph, Heat, Argilla, Gale and Cielo. These characters are able to transform into a demon form, which is their main form in battle but they can also fight in their human forms using conventional weapons. Like other SMT: the battle system called Press Turn with three allied characters fighting in battle, players can navigate to-scale environments with a moon phase system, fighting enemies in both random encounters like usual, and still only the protagonist can assign stat points at will, while the other main characters each have certain specializations. The new mechanic feature is Atma, Atma is gained after each battle, but a greater amount is gained from eating enemies. Character abilities are governed by Mantra Grids, a system where Mantras are bought using the in-game currency Macca, then mastering them using Atma Points gained from defeated enemies. There’s a combo system, a human character can perform a combo with one in demon form. Each character can learn abilities from one of four categories: Physical, Magic, Shield and Auto. If two or more characters equip a certain ability, they can perform a stronger version of it through a combo.
Since this game using same engine as Nocturne but don’t worry, its not really hard than Nocturne.
